Cased Hole Formation Evaluation
This course builds the skills needed to quantify remaining hydrocarbons behind casing using pulsed neutron logging tools, from conventional dual-detector devices to newer multi-detector systems. It compares the measurement and interpretation approaches used across the industry so participants can judge the strengths and limits of each and select the right technique for their wells.

Who should attend
Geologists, formation evaluation specialists, completion, reservoir and production engineers, and managers who make decisions on logging technology and tool selection.
What participants will be able to do
- Compare capture and carbon/oxygen logging for saturation monitoring
- Calculate water and steam saturation from pulsed neutron data
- Correct saturation estimates for the effect of shale
- Distinguish gas or steam from liquids behind casing
- Identify water entry points and zonal communication
