Drilling and Wells
Directional, Horizontal, and Multilateral Drilling
A grounding in the principles, calculations and planning methods used for directional and horizontal wells, with an introduction to multilateral applications. The course tackles practical issues such as torque, drag, hole cleaning and drill string design. Participants become familiar with survey tools, bottomhole assemblies and steerable systems, and learn to predict well paths to reach the target.
